What the Cornell Dog Study Actually Found
A frequently cited study out of Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine looked at CBD’s effect on dogs with osteoarthritis. Researchers found that CBD oil reduced pain and increased comfort in the majority of dogs studied, with owners and veterinarians noting improved mobility over the trial period.
That result gets repeated constantly in pet CBD marketing. What gets left out: the study was conducted on dogs. It says nothing directly about cats, whose liver enzymes metabolize drugs and plant compounds through different pathways than a dog’s does.
